When using candles, it's crucial to place them on a heat-resistant surface or in an appropriate holder, never directly on a wooden surface, and keep them out of the reach of children and pets.

Extinguishing a beeswax candle can be done without producing smoke by dipping the wick into the hot wax pool using a metal tool, then bringing it back up and centering it for the next burn. Additionally, when the wax is cooling, gently pushing in the sides of the candle while it's still pliable can help bring the liquid wax back up, resulting in an even burn as the candle is used.
